About the Teaching and Learning Department
The Teaching and Learning Department includes Curriculum, Assessment, Student Services, and Professional Development.
Our department works in a variety of areas to support the district’s important work with students, including:
- advancing the knowledge, understanding and professional practice in teaching and learning;
- the development, supervision and evaluation of building leaders;
- collaboration with other district personnel regarding school-based and district operations;
- provide a viable curriculum which connects instructional methods, resources, goals and assessments—all of which help a student learn;
- providing information and serving as a resource to building leaders;
- assisting in the enforcement of established policies and regulatory requirements;
- addressing issues and concerns that may arise on school grounds or with enrolled students; and,
- creating and supporting partnerships among schools, families and community
District 131’s area of Teaching and Learning focuses on developing and cultivating pathways for every student to experience success. Our district is continually defining and refining instructional programs to meet the diverse needs of all students in our District.
