John W. Gates Elementary School is located on the southeast side of Aurora, Illinois, next to East High School. It was established and built in 1956, and is named after a former school superintendent, John W. Gates. Gates School is known for providing hands-on experiences for its students and providing excellent field trips throughout the Fox Valley area, Chicago, Springfield and in the outdoor education program.

Academic Offerings

Gates offers general education classes, Bilingual/Sheltered classes and special education classes. In addition, there’s also a computer lab and learning resource center for students to enrich their learning. Students are offered a full educational program including art for grades 1-5th, music and physical education classes

Gates scholars, parents, and staff will work together as a team to plan, share, and support each other to become and create lifelong learners.

John W. Gates Elementary School se coloca en el lado sureste de Aurora, Illinois, al lado de la East High School. La escuela se estableció y se contruyo en el año 1956 y lleva el nombre de un ex superintendente de la escuela, John W. Gates.
