Letter from the PrincipalLetter from the Principal

Stephanie BrennanDear Parents and Students,

It is my great privilege to be a part of the Gates learning community for the fourth year, this time as your Principal! I have been a part of the Aurora education community for 15 years. During my teaching career, I taught three different grade levels, in both primary and intermediate levels. In addition to teaching, I have enjoyed leading as an Assistant Principal, participating on district leadership committees, and building leadership teams because I myself love learning about innovation in education. My husband and I have a daughter, who is a junior at the University of Kansas and a son who is a senior at Marmion.

Our school staff is comprised of your Aurora neighbors, homegrown Tomcats, and above all life-long learners with a commitment to our students. We take pride in this community and seek to provide a safe and vibrant learning community to foster student growth. I am looking forward to working with each of you. The learning process is never ending, and so I expect that all of us will share the journey with the children. Our positive attitudes and examples show the kids that education is a priority for all of us. Our collective goal is productive citizens who can effectively communicate and explore their individual interests in the world.

Please know that my door is always open to you. As a parent myself, I want to make sure our policies and procedures are a service to the students and our parents. Our open communication as a school community ensures that all stakeholders: parents, students, and staff are engaged in the best possible outcomes for the students.

With kind regards,

Stephanie Brennan
